Businesses and services


    There are a wide range of businesses in Merriott - two pubs including The Swan (right) on Lower Street, which is temporarily closed and the King's Head on Church Street which re-opened under new ownership in May 2016. There are two excellent convenience stores (Osborne's Broadway, below centre, which is also a butchers and sells and delivers daily newspapers, and the Cooperative Store, below left). The village has the Meriott Pharmacy ( below right), which collects prescriptions from local surgeries, prescribes and will home deliver if required, and a Texaco petrol station ( bottom ) combined with a Spar shop and Post Office.  Popular Motors at the petrol station services vehicles, carries out MOTs and sells cars. R A Wicks Ltd at Tail Mill undertakes building work and specialises in supplying and installing fireplces and chimneys. Links to these businesses can be found on the Links page of the website. 

    Chatter Chino (below centre) at 8 Lower Street is a cafe open for breakfast, lunch and light snacks and also sells cakes and fresh bread
