Merriott Local History Group
The group is not a 'club' as such as there is no formal membership . Instead, the committee organises talks, the occasional trip or special event. For example, the 'Finds Day' a couple of years ago, was a true village event and a great success. In addition, its website
http://www.merriottlocalhistorygroup.co.uk
publishes some of what the group has heard about or discovered and for anyone, wherever they live, to share photos, memories and research.
Meetings are held in the Tithe Barn during the winter on the third Wednesday of the month, and are open to everyone, whether long-time residents or newcomers. The entry fee is £2, but expect to buy raffle tickets! Wine is available on donation.
You can contact the organisers through the website -
